Mingyang has just launched its MySE 8-10MW offshore wind turbine in Yangjiang City of Guangdong Province, becoming the fourth OEM to produce an 8+MW offshore wind turbine in China.
The MySE 8-10MW offshore wind turbine will be hoisted at the local wind plant in Yangjiang next week. Mingyang, as an offshore wind developer, has acquired approvals for 800MW projects in Yangjiang.
Recently, domestic and foreign OWT OEMs have thrust into the Guangdong market—Shanghai Electric has put into operation its final assembly base in Shantou; Goldwind Technology has plans to build a manufacturing base in Yangjiang at the end of this year; and GE has also recently started construction on its Haliade X-12MW manufacturing base in Jieyang. In fact, it is interesting to note that these three OEMs have all rolled out turbines with over 8MW in capacity. (WindDaily)
