On August 27, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and National Energy Administration (NEA) issued a public consultation on the "Guidance on the Construction of Renewables + Thermal Power + ES Integration and Power Generation + Power Grid + Power Consumption + ES Integration”.

Key signages of both “integrations” construction:

Integration of “Renewables + Thermal Power + ES”: Focus on power generation base development; complementary integration of wind, solar, hydro, coal and other types of energy according to local conditions; integration of proper proportion of energy storage; optimize the regulation ability of different types of energy.

Integration of “Power Generation + Power Grid + Power Consumption + ES”: Focus on power load demand; build a new generation of power systems by optimizing the integration of local power supply, power grid, power demand, with support of energy storage and other advanced technology innovation; empower local demand side management with power regulation capability. (NDRC)
