As the region is facing power shortages, the Energy Bureau of Eastern Inner Mongolia has released a power consumption scheme.
The policy aims at ensuring the safety of the lives of residents and of important users involved in public interests and national security, as well as the power supply of basic energy production and important emergency and disaster relief materials production enterprises. To achieve this, an early warning system will be implemented. State Grid Eastern Inner Mongolia will estimate the balance of power supply and demand in the power grid to anticipate the occurrence of power gaps between supply and demand one or two days in advance. The warning system will include 4 levels depending on the expected power gap level. In case of power shortages, a number of industries with high power consumption and emissions could face power restrictions.
