Recently, CNOOC has begun soliciting bids for a study of offshore hydrogen production technology.
The project aims to research the design and optimize the technological process of hydrogen production with offshore wind power, as well as the economic feasibility.
According to the tender announcement, the research project will last 9 months from September 2020 to June 2021. The major areas of research include:
- Selection of the technological solution for offshore hydrogen production by electrolysis of water and technical research of the solution.
- Study of the compatibility between offshore wind power and hydrogen production equipment.
- Study of offshore hydrogen storage, hydrogen transmission technology and other related research.
