6.4GW of offshore wind power in Guangdong are postponed due to COVID 19 and military impact

On November 30, the Guangdong Jieyang DRC officially approved the extension of the project approval validity of 8 offshore wind projects in Jieyang with a total capacity of 5.85GW.

Together with the 2 other projects of SPIC whose extension was approved in August, the construction commencement of all 10 offshore wind projects (6.4GW) in the Guangdong Jieyang sea area are postponed.

Below is a list of the aforementioned projects originally approved by the Guangdong DRC before December 11, 2018: 

  1. SPIC Jieyang Shenquan II Offshore Wind Project (350MW)
  2. SPIC Jieyang Shenquan I Offshore Wind Project (400MW)
  3. SPIC Jieyang Huilai II Offshore Wind Project (500MW)
  4. SPIC Jieyang Qianzhan I Offshore Wind Project (1200MW)
  5. SPIC Jieyang Jinghai Offshore Wind Project (150MW)
  6. CGN Jieyang Huilai I Offshore Wind Project (800MW)
  7. CGN Jieyang Huilai IV Offshore Wind Project (1000MW)
  8. CGN Jieyang Huilai V Offshore Wind Project (1000MW)
  9. Mingyang Jieyang Qianzhan III Offshore Wind Project (500MW)
  10. Mingyang Jieyang Huilai III Offshore Wind Project (500MW)
